KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
- ⚡️3-second tech genius:
- Press Windows + V to see everything you’ve copied lately. Yes, your clipboard has a history.
- Open a private browser window fast: Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or Command + Shift + N (Mac).
- YouTube shortcuts: K to pause, J to rewind 10 sec, L to skip forward.
- Use voice typing in Google Docs: Tools > Voice typing.
- Use Ctrl + Z (or Command + Z) to undo anything, that is text, files, even deleted emails in Gmail.
- 🆘 Lifesaving tip: Here’s how to trigger Emergency SOS, fast. On Android, press the power button five times or more. For iPhones, press and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider pops up. Know this before you need it.
- Press Command + Shift + 5 on Mac to open the screenshot and screen recorder menu. For Windows, hold the Windows Key + Shift + S for< the Snipping Tool. Lovely.
- Mac Shortcuts:
- Jump to Mac settings fast: Don’t feel like digging through menus? Just right-click the System Settings icon in your Dock to get an alphabetical list of options. Click what you need and go straight there. Bonus: Press Command + Space to open Spotlight, then type the setting you’re after.
- Windows Shortcuts:
- 👆 Search your PC in seconds: Press Windows key + S and start typing. You can pull up apps, files, system settings and web results in seconds. No more clicking around or digging through menus.
- 🧮 Windows math shortcut: No need to open the Calculator app. Just press the Windows key, type your equation into the search bar (like 10 * 15 – 5), and you’ll see the answer instantly (145). FYI: You can include spaces between numbers or leave them out. Either way works.
- Windows and Mac Shortcuts:
- 📂 Open files fast: Press Ctrl + O (Windows) or Command+ O (Mac) to instantly launch the file dialog in most programs. Even better? Select multiple files and use this shortcut to open them all at once.
- Meet me at the address bar: Press Ctrl + L (PC) or Command + L (Mac) to instantly highlight your browser’s URL bar. No dragging your mouse or fumbling to click. It’s a simple trick that saves me time every day.
- 📺 Watching YouTube at night? Turn on dark mode for some eye comfort. On Desktop, click your profile picture (top right), scroll to Appearance and select Dark theme. On the mobile app, go to Settings > General > Appearance, then tap Dark theme.
